Viktor Brus did his Ph.D. in Solid State Electronics at the Institute for Problems of Materials Science of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2012 and received his Doctor of Sciences degree in Physics of Semiconductors and Dielectrics from Chernivtsi National University in 2018. From 2013 until 2020, he was doing research and teaching at Chernivtsi National University (Assistant Professor), Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow), and the University of California Santa Barbara (Project Leader at the Center for Polymers and Organic Solids, established by the Nobel laureate Prof. Alan Heeger). From 2020 until 2023 Viktor Brus was an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physics of Nazarbayev University. Prof. Brus' research interests are materials science and physics of semiconductor devices, in particular, electronic processes in novel organic (plastic) and hybrid perovskite optoelectronic and photovoltaic devices.

In 2023, Viktor Brus joined the Advanced Research of the largest US photovoltaic company, First Solar Inc. He leads a team of First Solar engineers developing disruptive innovations in CdTe thin-film photovoltaics and coordinates external collaboration with universities and research institutions.

Dr. Brus remains affiliated with Nazarbayev University as an Adjunct Professor of the Physics Department.
